Without getting into details, I made a deal with somebody that they could protect somebody else with a price attached. You can start by making sure that person that's being protected doesn't die.

The powers were things we had a hand in. Abilities...it's hard to say. One of the others might have a better idea, but I had some of these powers in my old life so I can't really tell.

I had a couple of different powers that were useful, and then I picked up skills on my own. I'm what you'd call a survivalist, I guess.
