[In the beauty salon, Ambition is seated at one of the tables. She has an array of nail polishes spread out in front of her. Noticeably, the bracelet Shiki made isn't on her wrist - instead, it's sitting on the table. When Shiki walks in, Ambition looks up.]
[Luckily Shiki doesn't seem to mind too much, striding across the room with the heels of her boots clicking against the floor before she slides into a chair across the table from Ambition. She's busy staring at the masked figure, debating what to say first.]
It would have gone faster if materials weren't hard to find. I had to work with what I had on short-notice. [She's also eyeing the nail polish bottles.]
I want to know a couple of things, yeah. What the hell is going on? When I agreed to this I didn't think you were going to take away everything else from me. [Is that the only issue, Shiki? No, but it's important all the same.]
Of course I don't! How are those unique features? And how am I even still...like this...? [Her appearance was her entry fee for the Game, but if she's not in the Game anymore then how is this happening?]
I don't think you understand the kind of game you pulled me from.
[Ambition definitely doesn't give a shit about her present depending on Shiki, but before she can say so, Shiki's moving right along.
Well, fine. This is more productive anyway.]
Obviously we're the best team. You need ambition to accomplish anything, ever. [...] Also, the best way to win is to completely discredit the competition. We need to find something compromising about the other gods so no one wants to stay with them.
So you mean undermining everyone and spreading bad press. [She raises an eyebrow.] That doesn't sound very ambitious of you. That just sounds really...petty.
If those results backfire on you, is it really worth it? I don't know if you really know what ambition is if that's how you think it should go. [She doesn't even sound mad, she's just confused.] The whole point of ambition is for the long-term...right? Not just the quick results.
I don't see how the job's right if you're doing just about anything to throw your chances. Even the Game had certain criteria you had to meet, ambition or not. [...Shiki are you just here to insult your god?]
I get what you're saying though, even if I don't agree. It's why I'll help while I can but I have to ask. Can you really guarantee my wish if you win?
No, I'm trying to understand how you operate and your motivations. [She's also just a little freaked out, that's fine.]
But if you can really guarantee everything...then that's all there is to it. I'll see what I can find out about other people, try to convince them to follow you. Fair?
Fair. You hold up your end of the bargain, I'll hold up mine.
[shiki better hope ambition never finds out about her wanting to defect, because if she dies her follower and ambition wins, ambition's not giving her shit]
If it ever turns out that you don't "got it," just ask me for advice. [She doesn't want to lose just because her followers won't admit they need help. ...even though she never admits when she needs help.]
WEEK 0
About time. Hurry up and sit down.
[this is how you lose your followers, Ambition.]
no subject
"About time", huh? This wasn't on me.

[Ambition indicates the bracelet.]
Well, I guess you have questions, and that's why you called me out here with this. Right?

I want to know a couple of things, yeah. What the hell is going on? When I agreed to this I didn't think you were going to take away everything else from me. [Is that the only issue, Shiki? No, but it's important all the same.]

[If she was, the materials would have been of much higher quality.]
Oh, please, is that what you're worried about? When you go back, it'll be like you never left. You haven't lost anything at all.
no subject
[There's also a pause.] And who's in charge of writing the inscriptions on the statues?
no subject
[MURDER IS IMPORTANT, SHIKI. As to the next question -]
It was a group project. [Meaning Ambition did barely any of the work and made everyone else pick up her slack.] Why? Don't you like yours?
no subject
I don't think you understand the kind of game you pulled me from.
no subject
[Ambition waves a hand dismissively.]
It's in the past and the future, but it's not your present. Get over it.
no subject
[...sigh.] Okay. Let's start over. You want followers, don't you? How do I help?
no subject
Well, fine. This is more productive anyway.]
Obviously we're the best team. You need ambition to accomplish anything, ever. [...] Also, the best way to win is to completely discredit the competition. We need to find something compromising about the other gods so no one wants to stay with them.
[By we, she means Shiki.]

no subject
[BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE.]
Of course I can. I'm a god now, but when I win, I'll be the god. I can guarantee anything I want to.
no subject
But if you can really guarantee everything...then that's all there is to it. I'll see what I can find out about other people, try to convince them to follow you. Fair?

[Ambition narrows her eyes behind her mask.]
Go and think then. [She says, coldly. Ooh... watch yourself, Shiki. Watch yourself.]
