We had to try and make it so everyone had about an equal chance of getting the same number of followers to start with. [it would have been entirely possible for everyone to be within 1 follower of each other...] We said who we wanted first, and if it worked out, we got to make an offer to them. If too many of us wanted the same person, we had to decide who would back off.

[Sorry, Fortune's giggling.]

[Her tone is joking, at least.]

[Fortune's having a good time.]
...thank you for wanting to talk to me, though. I really appreciate it.

[She nods.]
Would you tell me a little about yourself?
no subject
[stupid god rules]
But if you're the one who thinks up specific questions to ask, I'm more likely to be allowed to answer them.

[Fortune takes a moment to consider how best to phrase it.]
I picked people that I thought would be interested in making their own luck... or who could use a little luck. Or -
[...hmm.]
...or who I thought I should keep a close eye on.

Like... Who you thought might be dangerous?

[Fortune nods, once.]

You know it's only been a week and some change, right?

[Fortune hesitates.]
I... probably shouldn't have said that. Please don't repeat it. If it gets out to this person that I'm watching them, it could be... bad.
no subject
I won't tell anyone. Promise.

[it's too bad masks can't smile]
I appreciate it, Zoe.

I think that was all I had for now, but... I'll talk to you again soon.
